The Town of Hot Sulphur Springs is upgrading our drinking water infrastructure with "Stimulus" funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) via the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). Our efforts are focused upon:
  • Replacing our water intake system and related river restoration work.
  • Adding a new, state-of-the-art membrane water filter. The existing water filter will be re-fitted to become a pre-filter.
  • Replacing the clear well at the water treatment plant.
  • Adding a second water tank next to the existing tank on West Roosevelt.
March 2010 Construction season begins for 2010. The project is scheduled to be completed by November 2010.
Dec 09 - Mar 10 Work on final designs and specifications progresses and equipment and materials are ordered.
October 2009 Construction begins.
September 2009 Garney Construction is selected as the General Contractor. Funding is secured. Groundbreaking ceremony is held.
Aug-Sept 2009 Bidding process begins, contractor meetings are held, bidding closes on Sept. 3, 2009.
July 2009 CDPHE approves the Final Plans and Specifications for construction.
June 2009 Final submittal to CDPHE.
